Grease Can Cause A Huge Clog In The Sewer

Restaurants have to make sure that they aren't letting grease get past their sinks and out into the sewer. That's because the grease can clog up pipes and cause problems in the sewer. The grease can turn into one big fatberg that also grabs a hold of as much of the stuff that goes down the sewer as possible. Eventually, that will turn into a huge thing that can entirely block up the sewer. Find the Clog
The first thing that the people cleaning out the sewer are going to do is to find out where the clog is. They are going to do that by opening up the sewer near where they think that the problem is. Then they are going to send a camera down into the sewer lines. The camera will be on a fiber optic line. That will let the camera be able to maneuver because the fiber optics are flexible. The other end of the line is going to be attached to a monitor. That will let the people working on the sewer see what is going on with it so they can pinpoint the exact location of the clog.
Clean Out the Clog
Once they have pinpointed the exact location of the clog, it's time to clean it. The first thing that they are going to do is send an auger down into the sewer line. The auger will have a screw on it. That screw acts like a claw that will break up the clog. The screw will work its way into the clog, which can start to cause it to break up. If the clog is able to break up, then it can start moving down the line. The auger can also start pulling chunks out so that the giant greaseball can be pulled out of the sewer line, a bit at a time.
